After a fair few years of trial, error and trial again, we started to share our passion for All Things British Walnut through a series of Natural Handcrafted Functional Products launched to market in 2019.

All our products are hand made in small batches using well researched authentic recipes and traditional methods which have been extensively tested and essentially updated to surpass modern-day challenges.

We are continuously striving for full sustainability. To diversely utilise the entire offer of this single natural resource, no waste, from wood to oil and everything in between. To constantly inspire ourselves and likeminded soulful and ingenious craftspeople to create leading natural products that work.

Our hope is that by focusing on this valuable future resource we can influence a broad commercial interest that will increase demand for more trees to be planted and directly help, in our own way, to reduce the effects of climate change.

Walnut oil, widely acknowledged as a Superfood, provides us with important natural nutrients that can greatly benefit our wellbeing. It also retains a natural vigour that has the power to replace lost oils in time worn natural materials, restoring condition and performance back into our old-favourite leather and wood products.

The Lionucis idea, products and brand were born out of a longstanding obsession with the powerful nutritional values and endless versatility of the Walnut and its by-products, a career-spanning desire to positively influence more responsible consumerism and a pressing need to roll up the sleeves and get involved.

The Walnut, or 'Nut of Gods' as introduced to Britain by the invading Romans, is the oldest known tree food of mankind dating back to 7000bc, Persia. Today, it is more commonly referenced to the Perigord region of France, Northern Italy and Central Valley in California. All places where we have spent a fair bit of time, over the last few years, with local and global growers, pickers and producers gaining valuable experience and insight into everything Walnut and Walnut production.

Britain, by comparison is a fledgling grower territory. There are only a handful of mature Walnut Groves in Britain, cultivated by fellow enthusiasts who have quietly and expertly gone about their interest. The limited supply in this country make Lionucis products fundamentally authentic and exclusive.

On into 2021 and beyond, we will continue to develop and release innovative Natural Handcrafted Functional Products that exploit the versatile values of the not so humble Walnut and its endless by-products.
